Bernard “Bernie” Wambeke, age 79, of Alexandria, died courageously after a short, hard-fought battle with a rare form of cancer on Tuesday, July 16th, 2019, surrounded by family at his home. Visitation will be on Thursday, July 18th, from 5-8 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria, with Parish Prayers at 5:00 PM and a Knights of Columbus Rosary at 7:30 PM. Visitation will continue at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at 10 AM on Friday, July 19th, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM. Entombment to follow at St. Mary’s Mausoleum.
