Barbara A. Tracey, 77 of West Hartford died on July 23, 2019 after gracefully dealing with Alzheimer’s disease. She is pre deceased by her husband of 42 years Joseph E. Tracey, her parents Robert and Ann (Cobb) Brydon, her step-mother Hazel Brydon (Michon) and her sister in-law Virginia Tracey. She raised her family in West Hartford and made it her home for 41 years before she moved to Atlanta to be cared for by her eldest daughter Kathleen Bulger. She was a graduate of Oak Knoll School of the Holy Child (1960) in Summit New Jersey and earned her Associates Degree in Fine Arts from Lasell College (1962). A lifelong love of the Arts influenced her different careers and volunteering activities. She was a longtime parishioner of the Church of St. Timothy where she was a CCD teacher for many years and active in the Women’s Club. As President of the Women’s Club she started the Art Show at St. Timothy’s which was a successful fund raiser for many years. She enjoyed her years working at Tweeds and Tee’s in Farmington as fashion was another form of art for her. She also worked for many years with Edith Whitman in her interior design business. She finished her working career as a Realtor in West Hartford. She was an active member of the West Hartford Garden Club for 24 years. She was a painter and took many classes and displayed her art work at the Art League of West Hartford. She leaves behind her three daughters Kathleen Bulger (Michael), Megan Tracey (Lili Cook), Anna Hartman (Scott); her grandchildren Joseph, Jack and Kate Bulger, Matthew and Sarah Tracey-Cook; sister in-law Sr. Kathleen Marie Tracey S.C. of Mount Saint Vincent College and her brother Charles Brydon of Seattle WA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am Monday August 5, at the Church of St. Timothy, 1116 N. Main St. West Hartford. There will be a calling hour at the Church starting at 9am. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, West Hartford. Memorial Donations can be made to the West Hartford Garden Club in care of 179 Whitman Ave West Hartford CT 06107.
