NORTH LAWRENCE – Barbara A. Cumpston, age 66, passed away on July 25, 2019. Born on December 23, 1952 in Spencer, WV to the late Brown and Retta (Boggs) Jarvis, she was a resident of North Lawrence for 25 years, previously of Marshallville. Barb was co-owner and operator of Miracles Happen Upholstery for 20 years and had previously worked at the Econo-Lodge in Wooster. A member of Amherst Community Church in Massillon and a lifelong member of Al-Anon, she loved crafting and sewing. Preceded in death by her twin sister, Beverly Morrison; brothers, Harley, Danny, and David Jarvis, she is survived by her husband of 34 years, John; daughter, Melissa “Paige” Rogers of Spencer, WV; step son, James A. (Amanda) Cumpston of Salem, WV; step grandchildren, Lilly, Preston, Christina; brothers, R.D. (Jackie) Jarvis, and Howard Jarvis both of Spencer, WV; other family and many friends. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at 6 p.m. at Amherst Community Church, 8650 Beatty St. N.W., Massillon, OH, 44646, with Pastor Calvin Hamblin, officiating. Burial will take place at Swank Cemetery in Spencer, WV. Calling hours will be on Tuesday from 4 p.m. until time of service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Amherst Community Church.
