Arline’s Obituary Arline M. Smeltz, 81, of Stroud Township, died Wednesday morning, July 24, 2019, at The Gardens at Stroud in East Stroudsburg. She was the widow of John L. Smeltz who died September 3, 1998. Born on August 1, 1937 in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Helene (Linder) Maier and lived in Stroudsburg for most of her life. She was raised Lutheran and was a long-time member of the former Grace Lutheran Church in East Stroudsburg. Arline sang in several local community choruses including Pocono Mountain Community Chorus of Churches, Pocono Summer Chorus and Pocono Vocal Locals. She also sang in several church choirs, most recently at Presbyterian Church of the Mountain in Delaware Water Gap. Surviving are two children, Anna H. Busteed of Pocono Summit and Paul Adam Smeltz of Stroud Township; two grandchildren, Thomas D. Busteed and Rose A. Busteed; and a brother, Charles Maier of Stroudsburg. She was preceded in death by her son in law, Donald J. Busteed; and a sister, June Fink. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Read More
