Angel’s Obituary Carlisle (Schoharie County): Angel M. Soto 82, of Lykers Road Carlisle, NY passed away Wednesday, July 10th at the home of his daughter where he was lovingly cared for by family and hospice. Mr. Soto was born November 7, 1936 in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, a son of Santigo and Isebel Soto. He was educated in Puerto Rico and came to the mainland in 1952. He worked as a merchant marine for a time and later, settled in Carlisle with his growing family in 1980 and worked for NYS Department of Tax & Finance as a mailroom processor where he retired after 22 years of service. Angel attended mass at St. Vincent de Paul’s R.C. Church in Cobleskill. He enjoyed family gatherings, raising livestock and traveling to his native Puerto Rico. Angel was married to Anaida (Ortiz) Soto until her passing on October 12, 2007. Survivors include his children; Maria Soto of Delmar, Angel Soto (Valerie) of Cobleskill, Madeline Barlow (Jason) of Carlisle, Alex Soto of Cobleskill, Anthony Soto (Jessica) of Sidney Center and Minerva Garcia (Tony) of Scotia along with Angel Soto Jr of Texas, Edwin Soto of Brooklyn, Angel Louis of Brooklyn, and Miguel Soto. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 3great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and his wife, he was predeceased by 10 siblings. A period of visitation will be held from 10AM to 12Noon on Monday, July 15th at the Robert A. Guffin Funeral Home, 108 Chapel Street, Cobleskill followed by a funeral service at 12 Noon.
