Alfred S. Gutierrez, age 89 of Hammond, IN passed away Saturday, July 20, 2019. He is survived by his wife 64 years, Mary L. Gutierrez; 2 children: Christina Collins and Lucia Gutierrez; grandchildren: Valerie (Eric) Miszewski and Ryan Collins, John Paul Kotso and Joseph Andrew Kotso and Courtney Drosos; 4 great grandchildren; brother, Rudy and John Spiros; numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his son, Ralph Gutierrez; granddaughters, Teresa Maria Kotso and Claire Marie Kotso. Visitation at the FIFE FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, IN will be from 8:30 to 10:30 am on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at St. Margaret Mary Church, 1445 Hoffman Street, Hammond, IN with Rev. Stephen Kosinski officiating. Burial to follow at St. John Cemetery, Hammond, IN. Alfred retired from Wisconsin Steel Company and he was a U. S. Army Veteran.
