Maurice Max Schoof, 85, passed away April 27, 2019. A visitation will be held from 9-10 AM, service 10 AM, on Friday, May 3, at Johnson County Funeral Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, KS 66210. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Raytown, MO. Max was born on March 14, 1934 to Roy and Maggie Schoof in Council Grove, MO. After high school, he went to college and studied Chemistry, Mathematics, and Psychology. After college, he became a farmer who sold potatoes, tomatoes, and okra at the City Market in Kansas City. He also cut wood and sold it as a side job for many years. Max’s main job though, was being an Inspector with TWA, where he retired. He loved his family and animals who always found the animals and children to hang out with at any family event. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Maggie; and his wife, Diane. Max is survived by his children, Timothy Schoof and Robbin Schoof Wilson; brother, Russell Schoof, grandson, Desmond; and many other family members.
