Dorothy M. Hoekstra of Powder Springs, GA, 75, passed away on Monday, April 29, 2019. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at 3 o’clock at Powder Springs Memorial Gardens with Rev. Ed Humphries officiating. Dorothy is survived by her loving husband Edward “Ed” Hoekstra of Powder Springs; daughters, Michele Rakestraw of Dallas, GA, Denise Hoekstra of Powder Springs, GA, & Heather Tierney of Dallas, GA; brother Frank Wigley of Warren, MI; granddaughters, Laura, Amber, & Jozy; and grandson, River. Dorothy is preceded in death by her sister, Imogene Distefano. Dorothy was born in Mobile, AL to Eugene & Marie Wigley. She moved to Michigan with her family when she was 8 years old. After graduating high school Dorothy worked as a legal secretary. She was a dedicated wife and mother. Her loving presence will be greatly missed.
