Genell C. Golden, 86, of Box Springs, GA passed away Sunday, April 28, 2019 at Piedmont Northside Medical Center. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 1st at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Rev. Ed Rollins officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. Mrs. Golden was born July 16, 1932 in Enterprise, AL. She was the daughter of the late Carl Monroe Conner and Cleter Clyde Howell Conner. She worked as an x-ray transport technician at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, GA. She was preceded in death by her son, Stan Golden, Jr., sisters, Minnie Lou McDonald and Shirley Olds, and brother Willie Conner. Survivors include her husband of 69 years, Stan Golden of Box Springs, GA, sons, Steve Golden(Joyce) and Jeff Golden(Sandy) all of Box Springs, sisters, Marie Lovett(Larry) of Hudson, FL, Betty Wilson of Columbus, GA and Joyce Bruch(Barry) of Phenix City, AL, and brother-in-law, Dean Olds, of Columbus, GA. Grandchildren, Mary Lecy Golden, Mark Golden(Stephanie), Nancy Carol Golden, Kelly Anne Nobles(Brian), Megan Golden(Caleb Wiff), Michael Golden, Memery Wells, and Ryan George. Great-grandchildren, Rebecca Baughcum, Cami Golden, Conner Nobles and Lachlan Golden. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Alzheimer’s Association or Geneva Baptist Church, in memory of Genell Golden.
