Dolores Howle-German June 6 1934 April 26 2019

Dolores’ Obituary Dolores Howle-German 06/06/1934 – 04/28/2019 Dolores Howle-German was born June 6, 1934 and passed away into the arms of our Savior on April 26, 2019. She is survived by her husband, Dale M. German; daughters, Noreen Howle Scruggs and husband Sam Scruggs, and Melinda Howle; sister, Linda Kunkel Vineyard and husband Howell “Pepper” Vineyard; brother, Marvin Kunkel and wife Lavon Kunkel, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws. She was preceded in passing by her first husband, Norris Howle; sister, Barbara Kunkel Satterwhite; father and mother, Marvin A. and Agnes Fields Kunkel; stepmother, Nora Kunkel, and brother-in-law Brad Satterwhite. Dolores was born at home, the second of four children, in Laird Hill near Kilgore, Texas. As the daughter of an oil field worker and homemaker, her childhood was spent moving from town to town in Texas. Eventually her family settled in Quitman, TX where she graduated from high school. Soon thereafter she met her first love, Norris Howle, who was also from Quitman. They married while Norris was in the Navy and later moved to Garland, TX where they raised two daughters, Noreen and Melinda. They were married until Norris’s death in 1979, and she retired from Raytheon in 1997. A few years later she met the second love of her life, Dale German, while out dancing. After a long courtship, they married in 1997 and shared a wonderful, long and happy life. In October 2011, Dolores suffered a major stroke. Since then, Dale has been by her side every day. We say goodbye to our beloved wife and mother on this side of Heaven. We know she is rejoicing in Heaven with her Lord and Savior; reunited with loved ones who went before and waiting on our arrival. Many considered Dolores one of a kind. With a supernatural faith, she fully trusted God until her last breath. We are blessed and grateful beyond measure to have been a part of her new life. Dolores had so many hobbies and pastimes that she loved to share with her family and friends. She loved arts and crafts, gardening and reading; and traveling around the world. She was involved with her friends, family and church, always taking the time for both bible study and volunteer work, including funeral care teams at her church fellowship in Dallas, as well as other church activities. She was a foodie who loved to cook, and her family and friends are sure to miss her wonderful meals. She was a great friend to animals and loved her cats. Some of the things we remember about Dolores are the traits that made her such a wonderful mother and friend. She was kind, loving, generous, and compassionate; a genuinely fun woman who loved life and was always open to learning new things. She always had a warm, genuine smile and a kind word for any and everyone. She was happy. Beyond a doubt, a life well lived, and a Godly race well run.
