Diener “Dee”‘s Obituary Date Line: Colerain, NC Diener “Dee” Jernigan Thompson 72, of Elm Grove Road, died Monday April 22, 2019 at her home. She was born in Bertie County April 29, 1946 to the late George Riley and Pearl Mizelle Jernigan. Dee was a member of Elm Grove Baptist Church. She worked as a bookkeeper with the Bertie County Board of Education and later with Roberson Brothers. She also loved driving the School bus at Askewville Elementary. She loved shopping with her friends loved even more being a wife and mother. But most of all she loved being a Mema to her babies. Funeral services will be held Wednesday April24, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Elm Grove Baptist Church. Rev. Preston Jernigan and Rev. Randy Miller will officiate. Burial will follow in Edgewood Cemetery, Windsor. Survivors include her husband, Ronnie Thompson of the home; sons, Scott Thompson and wife Jenn of Rocky Mounty, Travis Thompson and wife Janna of Greenville and Troy Thompson and wife Candace of Edenton; grandchildren, Chloe, Timon Ruth Riley, Ella, Clara, Gabby Tully and Georgia Kate Thompson. The family will receive friend Tuesday April 23rd from 7-8:30 PM at Walker Funeral Home, Windsor and from the home at other times.
