Obituary for Mrs. Patricia Dell Grissett Patricia Dale McLeod Grissett, 79, of the Grassy community died Saturday, June 30, 2018, after fighting a courageous battle with breast cancer since the late 80’s. Mrs. Grissett was born Nov. 11th, 1938, in Opp, Alabama to Thomas and Mary Elizabeth McLeod. She married the love of her life Floyd Ray Grissett and celebrated 63 years of marriage with him. Floyd preceded her in death Dec. 15th, 2017. She volunteered in the Arab community for years before she and Floyd retired to Opp, Al. She was member of the Arab Mother’s Club and recognized as Homemaker of the Year in 1974. Also active at Arab 1stBaptist where she taught Sunday school; worked with Mission Friends, Acteens and sang in the choir. She was a member of Bluesprings Baptist Church in Opp. She is survived by her children and in-laws. Tim and Penny Grissett, Beverly Davis and Kaye and Jeff Dean; grandchildren: John, Matthew, Courtney, Ethan, Sam, Lydia and Ashleigh; great-grandchildren: Justin, Riley, Wyatt, Emma and Max. The funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 6th, 2018 at Bluesprings Baptist Church in Opp, Al. Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shepard’s Cove Hospice in Albertville, Al. or to a favorite charity.
