LATHAM – Bernadette M. Forgett Stewart, 97, passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at her daughter Bernadette’s home in Cohoes. She was the widow of Elwyn E. Stewart. Bernadette was born and educated in Cohoes, daughter of the late Thomas and Jeanette Messier Forgette. Bernadette formerly resided in Watervliet for 22 years, Clifton Park for 10 years, then moved to Latham in 1992. She was employed by Cohoes Manufacturing as a seamstress, Taylor Freezer of Albany and owned Frosty Boy Ice Cream Parlor in Latham. Bernadette loved to dance and enjoyed crocheting, puzzles and word search, She is survived by three sons, Ronald (Carol) Stewart of Lyman, ME, Frank (Deborah) Stewart of Latham and Gary (late Deb) Stewart of Cambridge; three daughters, Roseann Butler of Watervliet, Bernadette (Robert) Moran of Cohoes and Charlene Stewart of Latham; sister of Elizabeth (late James) Fontaine of Halfmoon and the late Leo, Arthur and Rosemarie Forgett. She is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Relatives and friends may call at the Bowen & Parker Bros.
