December 27 1963 August 22 2023
Alexis Maria Geyer was born on December 27, 1963 in New Haven, Connecticut at Yale-New Haven Hospital, and was the fourth child of Pauline and Earl Geyer Sr. Alexis lived a wonderful, full life and fought a lifelong battle with sickle cell anemia. Despite the obstacles of living with this disease, she never let it deter her from living her best life. Alexis excelled in her studies and took a particular interest in playing with the school band; the clarinet being her instrument of choice. She was a graduate of Hamden High School, class of 1981. After graduation, she ventured into the working world which consisted of an upper management position for a liquor store, SNET employee, The U.S. Postal Service, and as a Milford Jai Alai teller. It was destiny that Alexis began her employment at Milford Jai Alai; the stars aligned and brought her soulmate, the love of her life, Rob, together. Despite all odds, six years later she gave birth to a healthy baby boy, Tyler – their precious gift from God. The family enjoyed a variety of activities such as daytrips spent exploring their beautiful home state, baseball games, going to concerts, and cheering on their favorite NASCAR driver at the Pocono Raceway. When summer would fade into autumn there were even more adventures to be had. Alexis and her family especially enjoyed Halloween hayrides, which quicky became an annual family tradition. Alexis attended St. Martin de Porres Church, where she was an active member of the choir for more than 20 years, fulfilling her love to sing. She enjoyed representing the choir with her mother, Pauline, and her sister, Denise. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of St. Peter Claver. She loved to travel, visiting Colombia, Puerto Rico, and the Bahamas. One of her travel adventures included a girls trip to Miami. Her traveling partners in crime, sisters Denise and Cookie, and her niece, Nikki, were on a mission that turned out to be girls not gone wild but girls having fun and loving the opportunity to spend time together. Alexis was called to be with the Lord on August 22, 2023, resting in peace with her father, Earl D. Geyer Sr. She leaves behind her mother, Pauline C. Geyer; her sister, Denise Williams and brother-in-law Rudolph Williams; her sister, Sharlene Geyer; her brother, Earl D. Geyer Jr.; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and a host of relatives; her son, Tyler W. Yanosy; daughter-in-law, Nicole M. Yanosy; and her loving soulmate of 37 years, Robert W. Yanosy.
