Jimmie’s Obituary With the style and grace we became accustomed to, Jimmie Lee Minnitt entered the gates of heaven on her own terms on the 29th day of September, 2020. Funeral services are pending at this time. Arrangements are under the personal care of Moore-Rose Funeral Home in Floydada. Ms. Jimmie was born March 8, 1928 in Leonard, Texas to Oscar and Lemmie (Stanfield) Jones. She loved to tell the story of how she has worked her entire life, beginning with her first job “Pulling Cotton”. When she decided she wanted to be a nurse, she did it like she did everything… “The Jimmie Minnitt Way”. At the ripe age of 48 she enrolled in nursing school and received her LVN License on February 5, 1977. Our love for her legendary “made from scratch” Pound Cakes, biscuits, sweet potato pies and cranberry glazed ham will truly be missed. Ms. Jimmie is preceded in death by her parents; her siblings; Lois Helen, Murray Jones, Josie Brown, Julius “Doll” Chatman, Angelina Hawkins, Ruth Robinson, Mary Lee Hawkins and Oscar Lee King; and 2 children, Jerry D. Pleasant and Velma Windom. Ms. Jimmie is survived by her daughter Wanda (Kenneth) Sweat of Cibolo, Texas; 12 grandchildren – Misty Minnitt, Angela (Keith) Sweat; Sheena (DJ) Sweat, all of Cibolo, Texas; Sheron (Jimmie) Collins-Plainview, TX; Donnie (Deena) Weeks-Lubbock, TX; Renee Weeks -Floydada, Tx and Tina Weeks – Tulia, TX, Mickey Minnitt, Barbara Minnitt, Pam Pogue, Janet Minnitt & Rita Minnitt, all of Fort Worth, Texas; 22 Great Grandchildren and 20 Great Great Grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Pall Bearers will be: Terry King, Keith Ledbetter, Chris Weeks, Anderson Weeks, Andrew Weeks, Tyler Talley, Tanner Talley & Bryson Weeks.
