Emogene’s Obituary Emogene Ogg, 95, of Richmond, died Wednesday, September 30, 2020, at her home. Emogene was born on May 22, 1925, in Ray County, the daughter of Elmer and Gladys L. (Transue) Snider. She was united in marriage to Vernon Ogg of Ray County on November 16, 1945; he preceded her in death on February 21, 2006. Survivors include: three sons: Gary (Janice) Ogg, Roger Ogg, and Don (Patricia) Ogg, all of Richmond; three grandchildren: Kevin Ogg, James Ward, and Angelia Ward; five great-grandchildren: Gage Parker, Breanne Parrett, Lathaniel Ward, Alexis Ward, and Peydon Forster; one great-great-granddaughter, Alaia Parrett; and sister-in-law, Alice Perry of Richmond. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Carl Snider, two sisters, Agnes Houston and Joan Lewis, and daughter-in-law, Ellen Ogg. Emogene lived her lifetime in Ray County and attended McGill Grade School, then Richmond High School, and graduated in 1943. She then attended Central Missouri State College. After college, she taught three years at the Ogg School. After raising three sons, she did substitute teaching in Ray and Clay Counties. She attended Todd’s Chapel Church, enjoyed raising flowers and plants, and restoring and selling antique furniture. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Todd’s Chapel Church. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Friday, October 2, 2020, at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Burial will be in Todd’s Chapel Cemetery, Richmond.
