William “Billy”‘s Obituary Mr. William “Billy” Williamson, age 79, a resident of Columbia, passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2020 at his residence. A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 1, 2020 at 2PM at Lynnwood Cemetery with Bro. William Owens and Rick Points officiating. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Born on May 6, 1940 in Giles County, Billy was the son of the late Marshall Brown Williamson and the late Lacy Thurman Williamson. He worked many years for Campbell & Due Contractors and retired from Demastus Enterprise. After a long day of working construction, he enjoyed going home and taking care of his goats, hogs, and hens and raising beef cattle. Billy’s family recalled him being one of the fastest tobacco cutters to hit Maury County and one of the hardest workers they have ever seen. He enjoyed coon hunting, collecting pocketknives and watching the Mule Day Parade each year. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and taking them fishing. Billy was of the Church of Christ faith. He is survived by his son, Marshall “Marty” (Lynn) Williamson of Culleoka; daughters: Rena “Sissy” Isabell (fiancé Joe Morgan) of Culleoka, Gina (Danny) Stricklin of Jacksonville, FL; sister, Betty Ferguson of Columbia; grandchildren: Roman Isabell, Justin Goodman, Billy Williamson, Leann Hutt, Kyndell Stricklin, Autumn Teal; fifteen great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers: Frank, Joe, Dean and J.B. Williamson; the mother of his children, Peggy Sullivan on December 7, 2019; and sisters: Melba Floyd and Brownie Brunson. Pallbearers will be: Joey Morgan, Jimmy Floyd, Phil Floyd, Tab Blackburn, Darrell Scott, and Donnie Thompson. Read More
