Obituary Collins, Wendell S. Sikes, age 63, passed away Monday, April 20, 2020 at Community Hospice Inpatient Center in Vidalia. He was born in Claxton on November 2, 1956 to Peyton and Gladys Sikes and had lived in Tattnall County most of his life. He retired from the Georgia Department of Corrections as an Inmate Construction Supervisor. Wendell enjoyed fishing, hunting and his favorite pastime was spending time with his grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Joel Allen Sikes. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Vicki Fennell Sikes of Collins, children, Cliff (Cathy) Sikes of Vidalia, James Sikes of Collins and Tiffany (Reece) Cole of Reidsville; sister, Gail Sikes of Hinesville; grandchildren, Savannah Sikes, Rainey Sikes, Caleb Smith, Ava Smith, and Peyton Cole; several nieces and nephews. Private graveside funeral services will be conducted on Friday, April 25, 2020 at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church Cemetery near Collins with the Rev. David Moxley and Brother George Sanders officiating. Memorial may be given to Tattnall CARES, PO Box 2356, Reidsville, GA 30453 Low Country Cremation and Burial is serving the Sikes family.
