Obituary Ward Tackett, 88, of Charlestown, IN, passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2020 at Baptist Health in New Albany, IN. He was born on August 18, 1931 in Ashland, KY to Ward and Olive Unrue Tackett. He was an Army veteran and retired from I.C.I. Americas as a mechanic. Ward was a former Charlestown City Council member, former Little League Officer and Coach, and a member of the old Charlestown Optimist Club, a member of Community Presbyterian Church in Charlestown, Blazing Star Masonic Lodge #226 and American Legion Post 335. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother and six sisters. Ward is survived by his wife, Wilma Tackett; sons, Ronald Tackett and his wife Dee of Sellersburg, IN and Tim Tackett and his wife Linda of Murfreesboro, TN; granddaughters, Jennifer Marlatt and her husband, Matt of Murfreesboro, TN and grandson Jeremy Tackett and his wife Jenni of Nashville, TN and 3 great grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Monday April 27, 2020 at Charlestown Cemetery. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Ward Tackett, please visit our floral store.
