GREENFIELD – Wanda Lynn (Roland) Smith, age 49, of Greenfield, passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 with her loving family by her side. She was born in Memphis, Tennessee on August 14, 1970 to Thomas and Lessie (Rambo) Roland. She graduated from Greenfield-Central High School in 1988 and received her bachelors in elementary education from IUPUI. Wanda married Rick Smith on November 10, 1989 in Greenfield. She touched many students lives while she was a 3rd grade teacher at J.B. Stephens Elementary for 15 years. Wanda had a deep relationship with Christ. She knew Jesus Christ as her personal Lord & Savior. Wanda had an inner strength that she openly confessed came from that relationship. Wanda loved her dogs, Sydney, Owen and Cooper. She adored spending time with her family and traveling to Disney World, Tybee Island, and Savannah, GA. She also enjoyed history, art, and paintings especially. Wanda is survived by her husband, Rick Smith of Greenfield; son, Eric (Kelsi) Smith of Greenfield; parents, Thomas and Lessie Roland; sisters, Wendy (Brian) Bordenkircher of Greenfield and Debbie (Daren) Jones of Maxwell; nieces and nephews, Curtis (Brooke), Kevin (Brittney), Kaylynn, Krystynn (Tyler), Griffin, Samantha, Jacob, Dustin, Quentin, and Ethan; great nieces and nephews, Madyson, Tyson, Karson, Bryson, Josephine, and Petra; in-laws, Don and Donna Smith of Knightstown; brother-in-law, Tony (Cheyenne) Smith of Greenfield; and sister-in-law, Amy (Keith) Shertzer of Noblesville. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 3, 2020, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 4, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. David Parry will be officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made by mail to the Wanda Smith Memorial Scholarship at the Hancock County Community Foundation, 312 E.
