Obituary Sylvia Sklar, age 100, of Colchester, passed away on April 13, 2020 at the William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich. She was born on June 4, 1919 in New York City, a daughter of the late David and Anna (Stollman) Gottlieb. She married her beloved husband, Sol Sklar in December of 1946. The couple made their home and raised their family in Colchester where she has resided and was an active member of Ahavath Achim Synagogue for 67 years. Sylvia retired several years ago after a long career with Farmers and Mechanics Bank in Colchester. She will be sadly missed but remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother great grandmother, and aunt to her many loving nieces and nephews. She leaves her children, Ivy Elson of Manhattan, NY, Malcolm and his wife, Carole Sklar of Redding, CT and Palm Beach, FL, Tina Sklar of Colchester; two grandchildren, Alexis and her husband Gregory Bonner of West Palm Beach, FL, Todd Sklar of Dallas, TX; two great grandchildren, Brooks and Branch Bonner; and many extended family members and friends. She will be laid to rest next to her husband Sol with a graveside funeral services on Friday, April 17th at 11:00 am in the Ahavath Achim Cemetery.
