Slay, age 72 of Luzerne, Michigan, passed away at his home on Sunday, April 19, 2020. Steven was born in Decatur, Illinois on March 3, 1948 to James Slay and Barbara Scoby. He lived in many cities across the world when his father was in the Air Force. Steve resided in Metro Detroit for most of his adult life, working as a carpenter. Upon retiring, he settled in Luzerne. Steven is survived by his wife Carol Slay; his children: Steven V. (Sandy) Slay, Jacqueline (Brian) Keller, Jeffery (Shannon) Slay, Katherine (Steven) Chaffin, and Christopher Slay; his sister Lynne Scoby, his grandchildren: Stone, Jada, Jordan, Sela, Braden, Sydney, and Dylan; and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents: James Slay and Barbara Scoby In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. These arrangements were handled by Lashley Funeral Home, Mio, MI. Print Obituary
