Obituary Arrangements are pending. Steve M. Sopher, 63, Denver, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2020, at Indiana University Medical Center, Indianapolis. Born January 3, 1957, in Peru, Indiana, he was the son of James Clifford Sopher, Sr., and the former Bonnie Dorette Dickerhoff. On October 10, 1976, at the Mississinewa Reservoir, he was married to Stephanie Elaine Adkins, and she survives. He owner/operator of Sopher’s Body Shop in rural Denver. He was an avid coin collector and enjoyed camping and working on old cars. Survivors include one son, Steven Mark (Sue Ellen) Sopher II, Peru; one daughter, Tiffany Yvonne (Philip) McBride, Denver; five granddaughters, Lilian Rose McBride, Isabella Grace McBride, Hannah Lenay Hicks, Lulu Eleanore Elaine McBride, and Ireland Michelle McBride; two grandsons, Kain Alexander Sopher, and Oliver Mark McBride; three brothers, Jim Sopher, Frank Sopher, Mike (Dianna) Sopher and Jeff (Beth) Sopher; one sister, Sandy (Pat) York; and mother-in-law, Marilyn Adkins, Converse. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Sopher and Bonnie (Jim) Washburn; an infant brother; one sister, Rose Marie Sopher; and father-in-law, Charles Adkins.
