Obituary Sandy Stokes, 79, Gale Drive, died Thursday, April 9, 2020 at her home of natural causes. A private family graveside will be held Saturday, April 11, 2020 with Larry Dale Combs officiating. Burial will be in Peaceful Meadows Cemetery. Lamb Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. A native of Bluefield, West Virginia, she was born March 8, 1941, the daughter of the late Thomas Turner and the late Susie (Sloan) Turner. She was a sitter/caregiver and a member of Calvary Memorial Baptist Church. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Morris Stokes; and her daughter, Barbara Crunk. Survivors include her son, Eric (Judy) Williams, Fairview, Tennessee; her daughter, Paula Dossett, Hopkinsville; her brothers, Wilson “Corkey” Turner, North Carolina, Donald “Buckey” Turner, Portsmouth, Virginia; her sister, Tommie Marshall, Hampton, Virginia; 3 grandchildren, Lonnie Kirby, Jason Wilson and Renee Jones; and 6 great-grandchildren.
