Robert “Leon” Bell, age 84, of Hot Springs, went to be the Lord, Wednesday, April 29, 2020. He spent his last days at home surrounded by his wife of 60 years, LaVerne and his family. He joined in Heaven his son, Robert Keith Bell, who went before him on April 19, 2008. Also awaiting his arrival to Heaven was his parents, Earl and Renner Burns Bell; two brothers, Odell Bell and Billy Bell; and three sisters, Dorothy Grissom, Rosa Lee Tull and Sue Martin. Leon is survived by his wife, LaVerne; one son and two daughters-in-law, Michael Owen and Kay Bell and Robin Bell, all of Hot Springs; six grandchildren, James Bell, Amanda Passmore, Kayse Speers, Samantha Bell, Wendy Broyles and Jack Bell; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ray Bell of Niles, Michigan and Jerry Bell of Oceola, Indiana; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of wonderful friends. He was a devout member of Lake Hamilton Church of the Nazarene since 1981. Leon was a United States Air Force veteran. He was in the insurance industry for over 30 years; and owned and operated Leon Bell Insurance Company for 8 years. He had a passion for meeting new people and being a witness to his community and family, to the love of God and His son, Jesus Christ. Leon loved to golf and spend time with his family. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, May 1, 2020, in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Pastor Steve Holmgren officiating. Pallbearers will be Jack Bell, Brian Fields, Justin Bryant, Chance Speers, Devin Brizendine and Randy Ross. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs.
