INDIANAPOLIS – Robert (Bob) Delmar Mott, age 68, of Indianapolis, passed away 2, April 2020 at his residence. He was born in Indianapolis, IN on June 19, 1951, to Gordon and Mary (Robb) Mott. He graduated from Arlington High School in 1969. Bob received his degree in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University in 1975. He went on to complete his masters of Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, the Hartford Graduate Center in Hartford, Connecticut. He served in the United States Navy from 1975 to 1986 as an Engineer Officer and Lieutenant Commander on the USS Dallas. He also served on the USS Stonewall Jackson and USS Corpus Christi. He worked for General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton, Connecticut as an engineer following his military service. Bob enjoyed spending his free time listening to all types of music and playing his trumpet. He is survived by his children, daughter Christine (Douglas) Ouimette of Rhode Island and son, Steven Mott, stationed in Italy with the United States Navy; Brother, Douglas (Sandra) Mott of Greenfield; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Mary (Robb) Mott and his infant son, Christopher. A private graveside service will be held at Park Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory in Greenfield.
