Richard Marvin Yeatts October 12, 1948 – April 29, 2020 Share this obituary Send Flowers View/Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Gretna………Richard Marvin Yeatts, age 71 of Gretna died Wednesday, April 29, 2020 at Gretna Health and Rehab. Born October 12, 1948 in Pittsylvania County, he was a son of the late Albert “Jack” Amos Yeatts and Edna Simpson Yeatts. He was predeceased by three brothers, Garcia “Rick” Yeatts, Ramsey “Booty” Yeatts and Garland Yeatts; three sisters, Jerri Jones, Theresa Custer and Nancie Oltarzewski; and two brothers-in-law, Herndon Custer and Ralph Jones. Mr. Yeatts was a member of Gretna Christian Church and retired from T.I. Industries. He studied Business Administration at DCC before joining the Air Force where he was stationed in Vietnam and many locations stateside. He enjoyed going to the library and playing Solitaire. He loved going out to eat and trying new restaurants, he enjoyed many meals at Crossroads Restaurant. He is survived by one sister, Margurette Angell and husband, Richard of Roanoke; one brother, Ryland Yeatts of Alexandria; sisters-in-law, Frances Yeatts of Danville, Roseann Yeatts of Valrico, FL; brother-in-law, Dale Oltarzewski of Georgia; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews; and many cousins, including Melvin Custer, who drove him to many doctors visits. Graveside services with Military Honors by American Legion Altavista Post 36 and Gretna Post 232 will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 2, 2020 at the Yeatts Family Cemetery by Lee Ashley, Minister and Rev.
