O’Donnell 1950 – 2020 West Springfield – Peter W. O’Donnell, 70, died peacefully in Baystate Medical Center. He was born in Springfield and has lived in West Springfield most of his life. A graduate of West Springfield High School, he worked as a truck driver for the Town of West Springfield’s D.P.W. Peter grew up in West Springfield and attended St. Thomas school and W.S. High school. He served during the Vietnam for the United States Navy and was both active duty and reserve. He was a member of the American Legion for many years. Peter leaves his wife of 47 years Ann (DeRaleau) O’Donnell; three children Mathew O’Donnell, Erin O’Donnell, and Shanna Schnur; two grandchildren Emily and Noah; a brother Patrick O’Donnell. He was predeceased by a brother Paul O’Donnell. The burial will take place in the Massachusetts Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery and a public funeral will be held at a later date. The West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home is handling all arrangements. Donations may be made to your local food pantry. Print Obituary
