Opal S. Philley September 22, 1928 – April 24, 2020 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Opal S. Philley, 91 of Jasper, Texas, passed away Friday, April 24, 2020 at her home. A private graveside service will be held at Morse Cemetery in Buna, Texas. Opal was born September 22, 1928 to Oscar & Lena Mae Smith in Hughe Spring, Texas. She was a former resident of Buna, Texas and resided in Jasper since 1987. Opal was a charter member of Abundant Life Fellowship Assembly of God Church, Dam B-Woodville. She loved reading her Bible, working outside in her yard and gardening. She is survived by her son Robert Earl Foster, Sr. & wife Cheryl of Jasper; sister, Viola Lum of Buna; three grandchildren, Angela Brooks, Renee McCready and Robert Foster, Jr.; eight great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Lena Mae Smith; her husband James Philley; two brothers, Lonnie and Doyle Smith and one sister, Mildred Wallace. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Association, P. O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73123-1718. Services are under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home of Jasper.
