Obituary WATSONTOWN – Nancy S. (Shearer) Bashore, 84, formerly of Milton, died Monday, March 30, 2020 at Watsontown Health & Rehab where she resided. She was born in Milton on May 31, 1935 and was the daughter of the late Isaac “Gene” and Sara (Stevenson) Shearer, Sr. Nancy was briefly married to George Bashore. She was a graduate of Milton High School Class of 1953 and worked for Bell Telephone Co., Milton Shoe Co. and retired after 30 years from American Home Foods, Milton in 2000. Nancy was a sports fan and enjoyed Nascar (Jeff Gordon), Oakland Raiders and the Knicks. She also enjoyed being outside and doing yard work and growing roses. Nancy is survived by one son; Jeffery A. Bashore of Milton, four grandchildren; Julie and Britt Vollrath, Sherry and Francis Reynolds, Kasey and Walter Poeth and Harmony Buss, 11 great grandchildren; Anna, Crista, Roy, III, Joette, Elizabeth, Natasha, Austin, Jonathan, Dominick, Deetryk and Daryk, four great great grandchildren; Gavin Isaac, Dravin, Zaine and Chloe, two brothers and one sister-in-law; Isaac “Pete” and Nancy Shearer, Jr. of New Columbia and Larry Shearer of Milton and two sisters and brothers-in-law; Sara and Ed Havanas of Masontown and Mary and Luz Guerrero of Danville along with many good friends. In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by one daughter; Georgia Bashore and one great great grandson; Kaidyn. In lieu of flowers, one request that Nancy had is for everyone to vote Democrat! A poem that Nancy was fond of was On the other side of death. Death is a gateway, we must all pass through, to reach that fair land where the soul’s born anew. For man’s born to die and his sojourn on earth, is a short span of years beginning with birth. And like pilgrims we wander until death takes our hand and we start on our journey, to God’s promised land. A place where we’ll find no suffering nor tears, where time is not counted by days, months or years. And in this fair city that God has prepared, are unending joys to be happily shared.
