Monty James Wells, 73 of Carthage passed away April 8, 2020 at St. Luke’s Nursing Center. Monty was born November 21, 1946 in Portage Wisconsin to James Dallas Wells and Josephine Vanderbilt Wells. Monty served in the United States Army. Monty loved his grandchildren, he was a mechanic and was always working on things. He has a talented artist and cartoonist. Monty was united in marriage to Brenda McConnell in San Francisco California, they were married for 45 years and she preceded him in death in 2015. Monty is survived by one daughter Rhonda Wells Bitticks of Joplin and one son David Wells and wife Melissa of Carthage, four grandchildren Douglas Wells, Destiny Wells, Dax Wells and Brandon BItticks, one brother Dennis Larson of Wisconsin. Monty is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one sister Bobby Wells and one brother Arnold Wells. No services are planned at this time.
