Mildred Roberta Knippers Baldridge Taylor, AR Early Wednesday morning, April 29, 2020, Mildred Baldridge passed away at the age of 93. Mrs. Baldridge was born August 16, 1926, in Sabine parish to Ona Dupree Knippers and Willie Dewitt Knippers. She grew up during the difficult circumstances of the Great Depression and learned to appreciate every blessing she was given. She married Jess Edwin Baldridge on March 4, 1945 and had four children. Throughout their 50 year marriage, job changes had them live in Arkansas and Mississippi, and finally settle in Springhill, Louisiana. Mildred had many different jobs in gas stations, tire companies, and retail sales, but her lifelong passion was her family. To us, she was Momma, Memaw, and Aunt Sis. She loved to cook and tried to feed anyone that walked in her door. She raised her four children plus a granddaughter and helped baby sit nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was able to travel later in her life, to Thailand and Mexico, with her children and her sister. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers, Willie H. Knippers, Willard R. Knippers, and Wayne D. Knippers, and one son, David G. Baldridge. She leaves behind one sister, Sue Morgan, one brother, Walker Knippers, sister-in-law, Virginia Knippers, two sons, Jess Baldridge and Russell Baldridge and wife, Linn, one daughter, Bonita Baldridge, one daughter/granddaughter, Jennifer Williams and husband, Steve; granddaughters: Tanya and Jason Dean, Jessica and Jamie New, and Brandi Baldridge; nieces and nephews: James Morgan, Joe, and Amy Morgan, Kim, and Jason Winkler, Shane and Christy Knippers, Amanda Knippers, David and Maegun Knippers, John and Elaine Knippers, Doug and Jerri Knippers. A host of great-nieces and nephews, great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She always had a special place in her heart for “her boys”, Lucas and Levi Williams. Dementia robbed her of many memories and altered her behaviors, but she still loved to laugh. She spent the last year and half of her life at Summit Health and Rehab in Taylor, AR and we would like to express our gratitude to each and every member of the staff for caring for her. Due to the Covid -19 restrictions a private graveside service will be held at the Springhill, Cemetery, Springhill, LA, with Rev. Biju Kuriakose, C.M.I., officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill.
