Mary’s Obituary CENTRAL FALLS GOES, Mary V. (Nobrega), 100, of Central Falls, passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2020 at the Grandview Center, Cumberland. She was the wife of the late Manuel Goes Jr. with whom she was married for 51 years. Born in Central Falls she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Virginia (Rodrigues) Nobrega. She was a life-long resident of Central Falls. Mrs. Goes and her husband founded the former M & M Diner in Central Falls that they operated from 1950-1958. Afterwards she worked for her sister at the former Standard Laudry until 1973. Blessed with a long and happy life with her family, Mary was a passionate and dedicated Boston Red Sox fan even though she grew up in a Yankee household. Those who love her will always remember her loving and caring personality who would show affection to everyone in her extended family. Mary was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church. She was a member of the Club S.U. Madeirense, Owens-Corning Fiberglass Retirees, St. Edward Church Retirees, APUMEC Society of California. She leaves her daughter, Bella Marie Goes of Central Falls, her sons, Anthony “Tony” Goes of Central Falls, Mario Goes of San Fransisco and Joseph Goes of Central Falls; her one grandson, Anthony J. Goes of Cranston; her great-granddaughter, Lillian Claire; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late M. Bella Gouveia, Alice Albuquerque, Mario, Manuel and Anthony Nobrega. Her funeral and burial will be private, please check back to the funeral home website for updated service information.
