Mary Curtis November 13, 1926 – April 05, 2020 Share this obituary Send Flowers View/Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Mary Curtis, 93, formerly of Plank Rd., Corry, Pa., died Sunday, April 5, 2020, at Cambridge Corry. She was born November 13, 1926 in Lottsville, Pa., a daughter of the late Edmond and Florence Brown Woodburn. Mary was raised and educated in the Lottsville area and graduated Valedictorian from Lottsville High School. She worked in several area businesses including the Dairy Land Restaurant on S. Center Street in Corry. She lived in Columbus all of her married life and co-owned with her husband in the operation of Elmview Dairy in 1968. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Corry and was an active member of the Lydia Circle. Mary was also Mission Chairman of the Presbyterian Women’s Co-ordinating team and an active participant on the Church’s prayer chain. She was a charter member of the former Columbus Volunteer Department Auxiliary where she served as president and held various other offices in the organization. She was a 60 year plus member of the Grange, a recipient of State and National degrees, and the 7th degree in Columbus, Oh in 1947. Mary was a member of the Corry Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and volunteered in the hospital gift shop. She was also an exchange student host and hosted students from the Philippines and Poland. Mary enjoyed reading, quilting, gardening and especially spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death on March 12, 2013, by her husband, David F. Curtis, whom she married in 1948 in Lottsville, Pa.; a sister, Agnes Woodburn; and two brothers, William and Carl Woodburn. Mary is survived by two daughters, Marcia Johnson and her husband Donald and Betty Jo Waltier and her husband Nicholas all of Corry, Pa.; a son, Dr. David Curtis and his wife Kathleen of Folsom, Ca.; and seven grandchildren, Melissa (Cory) Turben, Amanda (Dan) Bump, Marcus (Chandra) Johnson, Alison (Nick) Burkholder, Anthony Waltier, Brendon Curtis and Carleton (Jaime) Curtis. She is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren, Sgt. Tyler (Kayleigh) Engle, Alexa Turben, Zachary Turben, Scarlet Curtis, Joleen Curtis, Johnny Curtis, Jeremiah Johnson, Samuel Johnson, Eve Johnson, Anna Johnson and Benjamin Johnson; a great-great grandson, Benson Engle; and a much loved exchange student son, Hector Dimacali in Manila, Philippines. A private graveside service will be held by the family at West Lawn Cemetery, Columbus, Pa. Pastor Dan McEldowney will officiate.
