Marie T. (Mongeon) Sosnicki, 90, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 21, 2020. Born in Ludlow on October 16, 1929, daughter of the late Adelbert and Louella (Brodeur) Mongeon, she was a Ludlow High School graduate. Marie continued her education in the nursing field, completed nurses training at Springfield Hospital School of Nursing and became a Registered Nurse. She later earned her Bachelors Degree in Nursing at the University of Massachusetts and her Master’s Degree in Nursing at Western New England College. She entered the US Army Reserve Nurse Corp. as a 1st Lieutenant, and honorably served in various military nursing positions. After completing the US Army Command and General Staff College, she achieved the rank of Colonel, USAR. After serving for 26 years, Marie retired honorably and with distinction. Her nursing career encompassed a multitude of challenges. She was a Visiting Nurse responsible for home care patients in Springfield and the hilltowns of the Berkshires. In between managing a career and family she was an avid skier and accomplished golfer. Marie was a member of the Blandford Club for 34 years and a loyal member of the Springfield Ski Club in Blandford for 40 years. She golfed with the Western Mass Ladies Group and the Southwick Club Ladies Twilight League. Her skiing activities took her to most every major ski area in New England, including the Headwall in Tuckermans Ravine on Mt. Washington, and western ski resorts, Sun Valley, Idaho and Alta, Utah. She also skiied numerous European resorts, St. Moritz, Davos, Lech, St. Anton, and a trip to New Zealand during our summer, their winter. Marie loved the complicated game of bridge and was a dedicated member of the Westfield Womens and Garden Clubs. Needless to say, her life was complete with the activities of her choices and achievements. Marie is survived by her beloved husband of sixty-one years, Daniel R. Sosnicki; loving daughter, Louanne Desharnais and husband Tom, of Belchertown; and caring sister, Anne Klink, of Phoenix, AZ. She was predeceased by her brother, Robert Mongeon. Funeral services and burial in MA Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam are private. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at a future date to be determined and announced.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Marie T Sosnicki October 16 1929 April 21 2020.
