Mr. Lester D. Dickerson, 89, of Jamestown, Indiana, passed away Tuesday morning, April 21, 2020 at Witham Memorial Hospital in Lebanon. He was born January 13, 1931 in Boone County, Indiana, a son of the late Guy Lorenzo and Delpha Fern (Dinsmore) Dickerson. Lester was a life resident of Boone County with the exception of his honorable time spent in the U.S. Army and was a graduate from Pinnell High School. On November 22, 1952, he was married to Phyllis Jean (Hunt) Dickerson in New Brunswick, Indiana. She preceded him in death on February 22, 2000. Lester was a hard worker and farmed majority of his life, specializing in row crop and livestock. In addition to farming he drove a school bus for the Western Boone School Corporation. He was a devoted family man and good friend. He loved life on the farm, watching sports and being with family. Survivors include: Two Sons: Terry D. (Wendi) Dickerson of Jamestown Doug W. (Lynette) Dickerson of Lebanon Three Grandchildren: Shelly (Alex) Lamarre of California Dustin (Molly) Dickerson of Lebanon Lindsey (Matt) Taylor of Lebanon Five Great Grandchildren: Kyndal Kynadi Hailey Tess Madison In addition to his parents and his wife, Lester was preceded in death by three brothers, William Ernest “Ernie” Dickerson, Wendell Dickerson and Francis Ray Dickerson. Private Family Graveside Services are to be held on Friday, April 24, 2020, at K of P Cemetery in Lizton, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
