Obituary Lawrence (Larry) Shapiro, 85, of Smithfield, RI, passed away peacefully in his sleep on April 17, 2020. He was the husband of Judy (Liffman) Shapiro. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of Irving and Anna Shapiro. Larry had a long career in the television/movie industry as a Greensman. He worked on shows such as Melrose Place and CHiPs. He worked on movies such as Starman. Larry was an avid motorcyclist and enjoyed taking long trips with his wife Judy. He relished telling stories of those days to friends and family. Larry was a Veteran having served in the Air Force during the Korean War. Besides his wife, he is survived by his children Randi Shapiro, and Kevin Shapiro and his wife Cynthia and his stepchildren, Sandi Brenner and her husband Jeremy, and Michael Darter and his wife Jodi; four grandchildren, Erik and Alexander Brenner, Jacob Darter, and Ellianna Shapiro; and a brother Stanley Shapiro and his wife Sandy. He was the brother of the late Bruce Shapiro. Private funeral arrangements are being handled by Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket, RI.
