Lawrence “Larry”‘s Obituary Lawrence (Larry) Albert Roman, Jr., age 91, of Marietta, Georgia passed away, April 20, 2020 with his wife Carol by his side. Larry was born May 22, 1928 in Londonderry, Ohio. Larry, his wife of 54 years and his son Lawrence (Larry III) have been Cobb County residents since 1972. Larry’s life work was in the industrial scale business with the Howe Richardson Scale Company. Larry was the kind of person that made you feel at ease right away and he never met a stranger. He loved spending time with his friends at the senior center playing pool and entertaining them with his jokes. He enjoyed being on the water and eating seafood. He also had a great love of antique cars and knew just about everything there was to know about them. Larry was a storyteller, recanting days gone by and his many travels and experiences, but his greatest love was spending time with family and making memories. The greatest joy in his life was his only grandchild; Sierra and was overjoyed from the day she was born and immediately grabbed his finger. He was always sure to show you the shrine in his wallet documenting every moment of her life. No matter how bad he was feeling, the moment she walked in it all seemed to melt away and was replaced by a smile as she was “the light of his life”. Larry is survived by his wife, Carol; son Larry III; daughter-in-law Tonya and granddaughter Sierra. Also, his stepson Bob Romans of Columbus, Ohio. He is preceded in death by his parents, Hazel & Lawrence Romans, Sr., sisters Margaret Miller and Gertrude Snedegar and his brother James Romans.
