Kimbra Renee Markee Shanafelt and her daughter, Dahni Jo Shanafelt passed away at their home on Thursday, April 23, 2020. Kimbra was a 1988 graduate of Reitz High School and an optical lab technician with Armada Optical. Dahni Jo was a kindergarten student at Highland Elementary who loved animals, the Disney movie “Frozen” and the colors pink and purple. Surviving are their mother/grandmother, Linda Markee; sister/aunt, Dana Markee and son/brother, Javier Santiago. Kim and Dahni Jo were preceded in death by their father and grandfather, Dr. Donald Markee. Private services will be held at this time with a public celebration at a later date. Pierre Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Another Chance for Animals, 2808 N.
