Obituary “Mr.” Keith E. Messenger of Hendersonville, North Carolina, died Thursday, March 26, 2020, at the Elizabeth House in Flat Rock. He was eighty-one. Keith was born to the late Emma I. Westmiller and Albert G. Messenger in Ithaca, New York, on May 11, 1938. He graduated from Ithaca High School, then served in the army. Keith loved all types of cars, and used to race on the dirt track. He was a huge Nascar fan, and his favorite driver was Jeff Gordon. Keith drove Clemson University’s football team bus for Young Transportation, and also worked for Apple County Transportation. Keith is survived by Diane DeGuido Messenger, his wife of ten years; his children, Daniel and Doreen of Florida, and Mary of New Jersey; brothers Richard Messenger of Ithaca, New York, Donald Messenger of Florida, and Phillip Messenger of Pennsylvania; grandchildren Jonelle, of Texas, Danielle, of North Carolina, Jill, Grace and Frankie, all of Florida, Will, and Sean; and nephews Michael Messenger of Pennsylvania, and David Messenger of Florida, and niece Donna Messenger of Florida.
