Obituary Tell City, Indiana Joseph L. “Joe” Scarboro, 69, passed away on April 16, 2020 at his home. He was born in Tell City, Indiana on February 12, 1951 to the late Louis G. “Snooks” Scarboro (Marie Scarboro) and Ida Mae “Hack” (Wilson) Alvey (Glenward Alvey). Joe was united in marriage on June 10, 1972 to Marlene Sutcliffe. He retired from the Indiana Department of Transportation where he was a crew leader. Joe was a member of Tell City Church of Christ, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #1424 and the former Cannelton Jaycees, where he served as President in 1981 to 1982. He was a former member of Sons of American Legion Post #142. He enjoyed NASCAR and Indiana basketball. Surviving is his wife of 48 years, Marlene Scarboro, Tell City; his children, John Scarboro, Tell City and Cathy Board ( Matthew), Oriole; brothers, Mike Scarboro and Floyd Alvey, both of Tell City ; sisters, Glenda Hann, Cannelton, Mary Schneider, Tell City and Kathy Alvey (Dawn Schauberger), Leopold and grandchildren, Katelin Hendershot (Jaren), Kaylee and Ashley Scarboro, Tyler and Dylan Watson and Myles Board. Due to current mandates with Covid-19, services will be private with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Pastor Billy Lain will officiate.
