John Joseph Cirlingione, age 96, passed to eternity April 26, 2020 in Largo, Florida. Born of Sicilian-born parents, Samuel and Anne (Distefano) Cirlingione, in 1923, he grew up in Pittsburgh, PA and attended Oliver High School there. He served in the US Army stateside during WWII. Worked at Alice Chalmers before moving to St. Petersburg, FL in 1962, where he worked at the City Parks Department, and later as a Construction Inspector in his beloved city’s Engineering Department. Predeceased by wife Norma (1986) and daughter Nancy (2016), sister Josie (2009), brothers Tony (1963) and Sammy (2002). Survived by son John, daughter Jeanne, daughter-in-law Eva, grandsons Brian, Dylan and James, great grandson Dallas, all of Largo, FL, sister Jill Sarver of Pittsburgh, PA, many nieces and nephews, cousins and extended family in Pennsylvania, Virginia, Florida, Washington State and elsewhere. John enjoyed music and dancing; played drums, trumpet, saxophone, keyboard, and guitar. In his youth he was an amateur boxer, played basketball, and enjoyed auto racing throughout his life. Able builder and car mechanic. Served his family with all his heart. They will greatly miss their patriarch. Private funeral will be followed by a Celebration of Life service in the summer.
