Joan’s Obituary Joan Cain, age 90, of Huron, passed away on Friday, April 17, 2020 at her home in Huron. A private family service will take place with burial at Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery in Huron. Joan Hazeltine was born on October 31, 1929 in Beloit, Wisconsin to parents Claron and Gladys (Taylor) Hazeltine. She grew up in Beloit and attended Minnesota Bible College in Minneapolis, MN. Joan married Marion Cain in Beloit, WI on June 11, 1953. Together they had ministries in Readstown, WI; Brookport, IL; Eau Claire, WI; Huron and Spencer, SD. Joan worked as a church secretary at different churches. Joan was a member of different women’s bowling leagues for many years. She enjoyed reading, knitting, and fishing. She was an RSVP volunteer. She was a gifted musician; playing organ for First Baptist Church, member and director of the Huron Tonettes, and playing piano for the Noon Lions Club. She loved spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren. Joan is survived by her children, John (Peggy) Cain of Huron, Ann (Steven) Boyd of Huron, and Sarah (Craig) Harris of Allison, IA; eight grandchildren, Greg (Joanie) Cain, Kayce (John) Tschetter, Michelle (Jason) Trent, Matt (Laney) Boyd, Mike Boyd, David (Suzy) Wernimont, Andy (Jessica) Wernimont, and Peter (Andrea) Wernimont; 10 great-grandchildren; sister Jean Hansen of Peoria, AZ and sister-in-law Lorraine Hazeltine of Loves Park, IL; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Marion in 2017, two sons-in-law, brother Richard Hazeltine, and brother-in-law, Chris Hansen. Read More
