Jil I. Wilson March 20, 1939 – March 29, 2020 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Jil Ida Lewis Wilson, age 81, is being embraced in the loving arms of Jesus Christ in Heaven on Sunday, March 29, 2020 at her home in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Survivors include her four loving children: Dr. Christopher Wilson, M.D. and wife Julia, Kimberly Wagley and husband Chris, Elizabeth Esper and husband Bill, and Mytyl Wilson; five grandchildren: Elizabeth Wagley, Eirik Wagley, Anastasia Wilson, Noah Esper and Adam Esper. She was born on March 20, 1939 in Chillicothe, Ohio. She graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Journalism and Art. She met her husband, Dr. Robert Wilson, M.D., while he was at Ohio State Medical School. She moved to Kenosha County in 1964 with her husband, local pediatrician and past school board member for Kenosha Unified School District. She taught stretch and water aerobics classes at Diver Dan’s Scuba shop. She loved Winnie the Pooh, gardening, swimming, teaching, animals, watercolor painting, her family, her friends and most of all… she loved being a mother. Her favorite children’s story was Margaret Wise Brown’s classic The Moon Shines Down. She would create her own words to the end of this book, “God bless the moon, And God bless me, And God bless the person that I want to see,” when talking to her children on the phone. Her favorite hymn was “I Sing the Song of the Saints of God.” I sing a song of the saints of God, patient and brave and true, who toiled and fought and lived and died for the Lord they loved and knew. And one was a doctor, and one was a queen, and one was a shepherdess on the green; they were all of them saints of God, and I mean, God helping, to be one too. 2. They loved their Lord so dear, so dear, and his love made them strong; and they followed the right for Jesus’ sake the whole of their good lives long. And one was a soldier, and one was a priest, and one was slain by a fierce wild beast; and there’s not any reason, no, not the least, why I shouldn’t be one too. 3. They lived not only in ages past; there are hundreds of thousands still. The world is bright with the joyous saints who love to do Jesus’ will. You can meet them in school, on the street, in the store, in church, by the sea, in the house next door; they are saints of God, whether rich or poor, and I mean to be one too. A memorial service will be planned to take place at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church in Kenosha, Wisconsin at a future date. Due to the untimely COVID-19 pandemic, there will not be a viewing. Instead, we ask that you visit her online memorial, and if you wish to pay your respects, contact the family. Cremation will take place in Kenosha, Wisconsin and her ashes and the ashes of her husband will be taken to be spread at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Terre Haute, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, Jil would want you to hug your loved ones, tell them how much you love them and make the world bright as a joyous saint.
