Obituary Jerry W. Cook, age 77, went to be with the Lord on April 2, 2020. He was a lifelong resident of Cumming, born to the late Hershell Cook and Gordie Newton. Two daughters, Cathy and Caren Cook, preceded him in death. He leaves behind a sister Joan Echols (Gerald Echols), two children, Steve Cook (Katy Cook) and Major Laura Cook Johnson (Lieutenant Colonel Kelly Johnson), and six grandchildren Simon Robertson, Katherine Cook, Becca Florey, Corporal William Cook, John-Michael Cook, and Sam Cook. Jerry Graduated from Forsyth County High School and attended West Georgia College and John Marshall Law School. He was a member of Haw Creek Baptist Church. Jerry was an avid baseball and tennis player and talented singer. He was a lifelong fan of the Braves, Falcons and Bulldogs, who each broke his heart. A memorial will be held to honor his life once the current COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted.
