Obituary Jerry R. Schaefer, 73, passed away April 14, 2020 at his home of cancer. He was born in Perry County on January 8, 1947 to the late John and Agnes (Vaal) Schaefer. Also preceding him in death were two brothers, Melvin and Robert Schaefer. Jerry was a 1965 graduate of Tell City High School and was united in marriage to Phyllis Naviaux who survives. He worked at General Electric for 38 years before retiring in 2003. Jerry was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, visiting with friends, fishing and hunting. Surviving is his wife of 52 years, Phyllis (Naviaux) Schaefer; daughters, Sara (Eric) Reynolds, Santa Claus and Laura (Phillip) Adams, Newburgh; sisters, Betty Heeke (Curt King), New Boston, and Jeanie (Mike) Franchville, Derby; grandchildren, Emily, Luke and Jacob Adams, Elijah Augustyniak and step-grandchildren, Ean and Graysen Reynolds. Due to current mandates services will be private. Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel will be handling his arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Catholic Church.
