Janice Sahlfeld June 21, 1942 – April 05, 2020 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| View Guestbook Entries| Send Sympathy Card Janice Marie (Miller) Sahlfeld, 77 of Beloit, KS, entered her heavenly home on April 5, 2020. She was born on June 21, 1942 in Lincoln, KS, the daughter of Robert and Katherine (Murphy) Miller After the death of her mother, Janice was taken in by Sue and Dale Giesecke of Glasco, KS and was gifted with a second family. She graduated from Glasco High School in 1960 and received a degree from Brown Mackie Business College, Salina, KS. She met the love of her life, Robert (Bob) Sahlfeld at a barn dance at the Deneke farm and they were married on August 12, 1961. To that union was born their daughter Kimberly Katherine. As well as being a loving mother, wife and friend, she enjoyed working at United Air Lines and St. John’s Catholic School. Her true love was being parish secretary and bookkeeper at St. John’s Catholic Church.in Beloit. After her retirement she enjoyed her grandchildren who were the light of her life. She was so proud of them. She is survived by her husband Bob, daughter Kimberly Sahlfeld-Bunger (Robert), grandchildren Cory, Cody, and Colby Bunger all of Whitewater, MO. Siblings: Doug Giesecke (Jackie), Gardner KS, Brad Giesecke and Lisa Pauls (Rick) all of Glasco, KS. Also surviving Janice are her numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, her brothers and sisters-in-law of the Sahlfeld family. She is proceeded in death by her parents Robert & Katherine Miller, her step mother Opal Miller, Dale & Sue Giesecke, sister Chloris Miller and brother Jere Miller. Janice lived life to the fullest as a loving servant who cared deeply for others. She can be remembered through a post on Roberts Family Funeral Service or through a memorial to St. John’s Education Fund or Boys Town an organization close to her heart. Due to travel restrictions a funeral/memorial Mass will be held at a later date. Janice had deep faith and was a source of strength for many who knew and loved her. Her daughter invites you to pause and join her family who will be praying while the private burial service with her husband and a small group of family is held at 2 p.m. at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Beloit on Thursday April 9th, 2020. They will be joining Tami Roberts, one of the many nurses who cared for Janice, who will be leading an online rosary which can be found on their website.
