James E. Vilona of Ishpeming, Michigan August 27, 1950 – April 3, 2020 Ishpeming, MI- James E. “Jim” Vilona, age 69, life-long Ishpeming resident passed away Friday, April 3, 2020 at his residence. James was born in Ishpeming, Michigan on August 27, 1950, a son of the late Helen E. (Hintsala) and Bruno A Vilona. He graduated from Ishpeming High School, class of 1969, attended Northern Michigan University. Jim worked as a general laborer in the Ishpeming area, working construction, driving truck and a school bus driver. He was a life-time Minnesota Vikings Fan, played softball for Hickey’s softball team, and was a softball umpire in Marquette County for many years. Jim enjoyed the outdoors. Jim is survived by two daughters, Tracy (fiancée Dean Vosburgh) Lambright, of Great Cacapon, WV; and Kristy (Marty) Brown, of Waynesboro, PA; 3 grandchildren: Brianna Cunningham, Karlee and Sophia Brown, along with nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Debra (Bond) Vilona. A Celebration of Jim’s life will be held at a later date.
