Howard Robert Ross February 19, 1944 – April 16, 2020 Howard Robert Ross age 76 of Ashland City, TN, passed away at his residence on Thursday April 16,2020. He was born February 19, 1944 in Cheatham County, the son of the late Henry Francis Ross and Nellie Allen Ross. He is a 1962 graduate of Cheatham County High School. Howard served his country in the US Air Force for 20 years. He retired in 1982 as a Master Sergeant. He served two tours in Vietnam. Following his time in the Military, he worked for many years at Blanchfield Community Army Hospital on Ft. Campbell in the supply department. Howard is a member of Ashland City First Baptist Church. He enjoyed vintage cars and repairing lawn mowers. He enjoyed talking to other veterans. He is survived by his wife Yvonne Pennington Ross of Ashland City; two daughters Teresa Ross of Nashville; and Julie Ross Canada of Nashville. Brother Ernest Ross of Ashland City, Franklin D. Ross of Ashland City; and a brother in law who Howard regarded as a brother, Roy Biggs of Ashland City; He is also survived by a grandson Brent Ross of Nashville. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a daughter Dee Dee Ross who passed in 1990; brothers Roy, Jessie, Albert, and Buford Ross and sisters Ethel Cannon, Myrtle Criswell, Betty Biggs, and June Jones. Due to the current restrictions, private family funeral services will be conducted on Saturday April 18, 2020 with burial at the Ross Family Cemetery. At a later date, public memorial services with military honors will be conducted. Arrangements are under the care of Boyd Funeral Home, 101 Elizabeth Street, Ashland City, TN 37015.
