Herbert Keathley January 06, 1937 – April 15, 2020 Share this obituary Send Sympathy Gifts Upload Photo| Sign Guestbook| View Guestbook Entries| Send Sympathy Card Herbert Keathley, 83 years of age, and a resident of Lorain, went home to be with his Lord and Saviour on Wednesday, April 15, 2020 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain. He was born January 6, 1937 in Floyd County, Kentucky. Herbert had made his home in Lorain since 1955. He was employed in the Bop Shop at US Steel in Lorain for thirty years. Herbert was a member of Believers Spoken Word Tabernacle in Sheffield. He loved his friends and family. Herbert will be remembered as a very humble man who loved the Lord. Survivors include his son David Keathley; his daughters Rita Newbraugh, Robin Whitlock (Charles) and Theresa Newman (Troy) all of Lorain; 14 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; two brothers and five sisters. He was preceded in death by his wife Josephine Ruth Keathley (nee: Richardson) in 2014; his grandson Caleb Newbraugh; four brothers; and his parents Ellis and Roxie Keathley (nee: Hall). Private family funeral services will be held at Hempel Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst, Ohio. PUBLIC LIVE STREAMING of the funeral service will be available at www.hempelfuneralhome.com on Saturday, April 18, 2020 at Twelve O’clock noon by selecting the live stream tab to gain access. The Rev. Samuel Browning, pastor of Believers Spoken Word Tabernacle, will officiate. Burial will take place at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
